History of Peter’s Fine Dining


​For excellence in fine dining, nothing beats Peter’s Fine Dining in Markham. For over 40 years, this Steak & Seafood House has been serving-up culinary delights for Markham and surrounding area residents and business people.


Open year round for dinner, Peter’s offers mouth-watering choices for an unforgettable dining experience. Begin your meal with a show, Caesar salad prepared table-side from the freshest ingredients. Try the Oysters Rockefeller and in-house Scottish smoked salmon, or warm up with a classic French Onion soup. For the main course signature dishes include Peter’s cut Prime Rib, USDA Prime NY steak, Filet Mignon and succulent seasoned rack of lamb. The aromas of Chateaubriand and Peppercorn steak are a delight to the senses while the sauce is prepared as you watch. If it’s surf you prefer, have the fresh Dover Sole served at your table, a platter of Alaskan king crab legs or succulent lobster tails.


A carefully chosen wine list offers excellent pairings from around the world at reasonable prices along with vintage bottles for the discerning palette. After dinner, enjoy a Spanish coffee flamed at your table to complement your choice from the delectable dessert menu. Also, on offer are aged tawny Ports, prized Canadian Icewines, rare Single Malt Scotches and gently warmed fine Cognacs.


The restaurant has won many Readers’ Choice awards for the quality of its food and outstanding service. The most memorable media event occurred in August of 1994, when Nick Kypreos of the New York Rangers brought the Stanley Cup to Peter’s for display. Today, this family-owned and operated restaurant is a Markham landmark.

Whether it's a romantic dinner or a special celebration for a group, we aim to create a cozy, intimate atmosphere of elegance and peace. While we personally love kids, those under five years old can be disruptive and can pose a safety risk for guests and serving staff. We pride ourselves in providing table-side preparation of dishes, which often includes an open flame. We kindly ask that children under five years old not be included in the dining experience at Peter's so that everyone can enjoy themselves.

Dress code is casual elegance and coat check is offered upon entrance of the restaurant.
